Yep, my ancestors are scottish, well my great, great grandfather was, but that is the only connection I have. Happy Burn's Night if you come from north of the border, and are celebrating tonight, enjoy your haggis.
I've finally managed to get some decent photos of my new arrangements in my scraproom. This is my old shelf with my new Kilner bottles. They are so cheap, £1.49 each, and they are quite large, about 6" high. I was very lucky that 4 of them just fitted perfectly on each shelf. I will be getting some more next week, for the rest of my ribbons, flowers and chipboard letters. I love the little bits and bobs tin basket, there were quite a few of those in the shop with different titles and sizes, I've filled mine with all my Heidi Swapp stash, and as she is my fav at the moment, I have quite a collection. All those little tins are bits that come with my Jenni Bowlin Kits, I ususaly label them up, so I know which belongs to which kit.
Next are my old hooks, which used to me used as a dumping ground where I hung anything that I couldn't be bothered to put away, now I have hung all my rubons on there. They all seem to come with a hole in the top of the packet, so this arrangement works really well. Next to them are most of my Scrapagogo Stamps. These stamps have gotten so great recently, and they are really good value for money.
Next to that is my old metal shelf, which I want to raise up and put on the wall, but it is very heavy. On here are all my little Prima Bottles etc, that I emptied, and I am going to use these for putting my buttons in, well they are in them already, but as I don't have many of each colour, they are a bit hidden. This is a fab excuse to go out button shopping!! I love buttons, and use them so much, that it is really hard for me to build up a stock of them. But I am so pleased to have all my buttons sorted colourwise.
I have a shelf for all my photo boxes, although they only go up to 2006, I haven't printed any 2007 photos en masse as I used to do, so I am really short of up to date photos, but it is really making me scrap older ones. I have all my mini books etc that I have made on this shelf, except those on display around the house, and then all last year's mags that I look at regularly for inspiration.
Now opposite all this is my shelving unit that DH wants to replace, because, if he doesn't ,it's going to fall off the wall, because it is so laden down with anything 12 x 12 or more! I need to spread the load on this a bit, and then incorporate 8 drawers of stuff that sit underneath, mainly scraps, large punches, and my sidekick and alphabets. I want to store all this sort of thing in wicker baskets on my shelves. I already have all my 8x 8 albums, and all my paint, glitter, etc in baskets right at the very top, bought in a sale last week for a ridiculous £2 each. I hope they still have some left next week. I need loads more space for all my albums and papers. I have about 50 LOs that need to go in albums. So our plan is to build a shelf here, right from floor to ceiling, wider and deeper. And that should do the trick.
I think that is all my changes in my scraproom. It may not look much to you, yes it is a tiny room, but it's a room, and that's all I care about, I wouldn't ever want to go back to scrapping on the dining room table again, and clearing up everynight.
I spent most of the day fiddling with a Jenni Bowlin kit. These are the pennants that I cut out and covered in paper and gold braid edging. I've finished the project now, and it's hanging over my fireplace, and looks dead cute. I haven't taken a pic of the finished project yet, but this was the first stage. Then there were letters to put on the blank ones, butterflies to cutout, and glitter, some rubons, and then holes and ribbons.
I had to add some buttons too, and I really do like it. I used to hate doing anything other than LOs, but I love all these little projects now, and making them seasonable, so you can take one down, and hang another up. I must make something for Valentine's next.
I'm packing up for the Wyverstone Crop tomorrow, I'm spending ages, so I can really organise everything, but only take what I really need, so I take less with me, and have to carry less. My wrists are much weaker than they used to be.
Poor Sophie has had a couple of bad days with exams. She's had two science modular GCSEs, both she thought were too difficult, so I don't think she feels she has done over well. Then she's had a drama assessment, and dance assessment, which she thought went horribly wrong, but she managed a "B" in, so that was good, then she's had plenty of Mocks, and to top it all she feels really ill, and I had to pick her up early today after she'd finished her exams. I think lack of sleep, and not eating enough is the problem, Sophie disagrees, but while she has all this during the day, she is out everynight dancing or show rehersals, a show in Kings Lynn this week, which is over 50 miles away, and then coming home, eating at ridiculous times, revising and she ends up lying in bed with her laptop on her lap, phone in her hand, and falls asleep! Not healthy at all. Anyway, she's been curled up in her quilt all afternoon and went to bed early, so hopefully she'l feel refreshed tomorrow and much better.
Hope I didn't bore you totally, next time grap a cuppa before you sit down to read my posts!!
Talk Later.

Hi Jen,
I had to pass by after your lovely comments on my blog!
I used to camp as a guide in the big old green patrol tents, but my Rangers would throw a fit if I asked them to do that now! Their requirements for a campsite are: somewhere to charge phones/ipods, private toilet block/showers, mobile phone signal and numerous more impossible demands!!! lol
Your scraproom looks gorgeous! I love those white hooks on your wall. It must be a lovely environment to scrap in!
